Does anyone do any editing on these AP articles? I noticed misspellings on several articles. Other times I find rather noticeable mistakes.
Check out this article on Christian Slater. (http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2006/02/11/93997-slater-seeks-joint-custody-of-children). The caption below the picture on this article starts by saying "wife Haddon Ryan" and at the end of the paragraph says "wife Ryan Haddon". Isn't that an obvious mistake? I caught it right away.
Check out this headline story on Conan O'Brien. (http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2006/02/11/94194-conan-obrien-seeks-reward-for-finns-win) The word "president" is misspelled as "presudent". Doesn't spell-check check this? Newsvine's spell-check does.
Perhaps I just have an eye for these types of errors, but I am pretty sure I am not the only one. Is that why Newsvine is suppose to get the AP articles so fast, they haven't been to the editor first? With mistakes like these, I think it takes awhile the creditability of the source and ultimately hurts Newsvine.
